I have 100mb free internet How much can I use Skritter

qiaodan   June 16th, 2011 1:57p.m.

I guys in Italy I have a Vodafone promotion that allow me to use freely 100mbit a month, I know is not so much there are better solution but since I have free internet at Home and in Office, I will use it just for Skritter when I am out of free internet.
I read from Nick that Skritter requires very low bandwith, well I would like to know how many minute per day I can use It. For example one hour of Skritter using audio sentences how much traffic generates?
I have downloaded Droidwall a firewall for android that blocks any other undesired connection from applications beside web internet on 3g networks to avoid wasting bandwith.
Thanks in advance.

I calculated at one point: http://www.skritter.com/forum/topic?id=35943283

I got 10kbps. So in one hour, it would use somewhere around 4MB. Do you have 100 megabytes or 100 megabits? If it's 100 MB, then you could do 22 hours of Skritter on it per month. If it's only 100 mbits, that's not even 3 hours of Skritter.

Also, I didn't test while using the audio for example sentences, so that might increase your bandwidth--how much, it's hard to say.

An hour Skritter time tends to run me between 8MB and 10MB. Which means next month I'll be bumping my plan up from 70MB to 150MB.

孟志书, that's great data. Are you doing any example sentence audio with that? And which prompt types are you studying?

mcfarljw   June 18th, 2011 5:16a.m.

@nick, nope, I'm studying all four parts and only listen to the audio if it's automatically played. I rarely do anything else on my mobile other than just plow through reviews.

If I needed to review something or look at a decomposition I'd star it then check it on the computer later.
