Best android browser for skritter?

DaXia   July 11th, 2011 2:24p.m.

Hi!

A lot of us are using skritter on our phones, but from what I understand the experience can be dirrefent depending on what browser you use. I use the default browser that came with the phone (not sure which one it is), my phone is a Samasung galaxy s. I've had some trouble with skritter, especially if the connection isn't perfect. Also, it seems that skrittering drains the battery really fast. Today, skritter wont even load on my phone. All I can see is the tabs at the top, and the stuff under those with the timer and setting etc, under it is just a big white square.

Also, I'm really curious about the iphone version. Skritter has become so important to me, that I will easily buy an iPhone if skritter works better on it.

Anyhow, what browsers have u tried and whats your experience?

I don't know if these browsers work on Galaxy but I would think so, Skyfire (I got V.4.0.3) has the best Skritter flash experience on my android tablet and Dolphin Browser (v.5) is also good.

DaXia, an imperfect mobile connection is often going to feed max frustration with Skritter as discussed in the other thread. That combined with intensive Skritter CPU requirements would understandably drain your battery very quickly.

The iPhone version is going to do much less frequent client-server communication. I'm hoping to get it to be totally tolerant of bad connections such that the worst that can happen is that you have to wait to add new words or save your reviews to the server, but to do everything automatically when the connection is good. I haven't written that part yet, but I'm getting close to it.
